WHEN WILL SOUTH BAY ACADEMY OPEN?
South Bay Academy (SBA) is partnering with Livingstone Academy to open in August 2024.
WILL THE STUDENTS WEAR UNIFORMS?
The students will not be required to wear uniforms during the 2024-2025 school year. We will determine the future policy at a later date.
WHAT GRADES DO YOU CURRENTLY HAVE?
SBA will offer Kindergarten through 9th grade upon opening.
WHAT IS YOUR CLASS SIZE?
Small class size is important to the mission of South Bay Academy. The student teacher ratio is kept at a minimum for effective classroom instruction.
CAN STUDENTS FROM A TRADITIONAL EDUCATION EXPERIENCE INTEGRATE QUICKLY INTO THE CLASSICAL METHOD?
Yes. While there is an initial adjustment period, students can be successfully integrated at any grade.
WHAT CURRICULUM WILL THE SCHOOL USE?
SBA is partnering with Livingstone to provide a well-rounded Christian curriculum for every grade level.
WILL THE STUDENTS ATTEND CHAPEL?
Yes. All students will be required to attend chapel while enrolled.
WILL THE SCHOOL HAVE AN IEP PROGRAM?
Yes. Livingstone already has an amazing IEP and special needs program already in place. We do not intend to change their IEP program. The owners and teachers have a tremendous amount of experience with IEPs.
DO YOU OFFER TUITION ASSISTANCE/SCHOLARSHIPS OR DISCOUNTS?
State of Florida School Choice Expansion
On March 27, 2023, Gov. DeSantis signed House Bill (HB) 1 into law which eliminates the income restrictions on the FES-EO and FTC Scholarships, thus making all children of Florida residents who are eligible to attend public school in grades K-12 eligible for a scholarship. It is estimated that scholarship awards will be approximately $8,000 per student. This new law went into effect on July 1, 2023, and SBA will continue to participate in this program.
